0800 - 1200 | Course Cost: $100 for non-contract students. Officers receive 8 Hours of CLEE Credit upon course completion. HELD AT THE MINERAL AREA COLLEGE LAW ENFORCEMENT ACADEMY SPACE IS LIMITED! PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL ONLY Equipment needed: - Training Clothing - Vest, Duty Belt - Eye/Ear Protection - 3 magazines minimum - 250 rounds of handgun This course is designed for the everyday patrol officer and breaks down the fundamentals of the firearm. The course is covered in a crawl, walk, run method for the students. The course will cover taking apart the firearm, cleaning the weapon, proper grip, stance, and balance of the student. Students will cover the mentality of functioning a firearm on a static line compared to having to use the firearm in the line of duty. The liability of using a firearm on or off duty as well. Students will learn the importance of verbalization while using their firearm and the necessity of being able to move while shooting. Students will learn the importance of magazine changes while in a deadly force incident. Instructors will run students through several different courses that are real-world-based scenarios. At the end of the course, students will be put through the Missouri POST handgun qualification course. Not only will the student leave the course more prepared and knowledgeable about the functioning of themselves and their firearm, but they will also complete the course qualified for the year.
